Completion of phased road and underground facility DB construction by 2023
Proactive response for resident safety, administrative efficiency, and civil service use
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun announced that it will implement the second phase, third-year project of the computerized project to build a spatial information database of roads and underground facilities in the region starting from the 12th.
The construction of the underground facilities DB is a core infrastructure project for the safety of residents, which compiles location and attribute information of roads, including water supply and sewage systems, into data and mounts it on a continuous cadastral map for easy viewing. This will be provided as basic data for future administrative projects.
Since 2016 until 2020, the county completed the computerized project for underground facilities of roads and water supply and sewage systems covering 254.9 km within the urban planning area of Gurye-eup, investing 1.3 billion KRW of national funds and 900 million KRW of county funds. Additionally, the GIS for water supply and sewage systems covering 351.1 km of the entire township area has been underway from 2019 to 2023.
Furthermore, to proactively complete the construction of the DB for all roads and underground facilities in the region, the county has been promoting the second phase project for roads and underground facilities, which involves the computerized project for facilities on roads wider than 4 meters outside the urban planning area of Gurye-eup and in township units, investing 3 billion KRW of county funds from 2021 to 2023.
In the first year, 2021, 62.47 km in part of Gurye-eup and Muncheok-myeon were completed. In the second year, 2022, 155.98 km in Ganjeon, Toji, and Sandong-myeon were completed. This year, as the third-year project, the road facilities in the 151.55 km sections of Masan, Gwangui, and Yongbang areas will be surveyed and explored to build a DB with accurate location information of the facilities.
A county official said, “We will continue to actively utilize the DB data to systematically manage roads and underground facilities, prevent safety accidents caused by indiscriminate road excavation in advance, protect the safety of residents, and do our best to efficiently resolve related civil complaints.”
