Professor Seon Kyung-hoon Selected as Outstanding Medical Guidance Doctor
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital (Hospital Director Kim Kyungjong) announced that it was selected as the best institution and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the recent '2022 Smart Medical Guidance Pilot Project' merit award ceremony.
The Smart Medical Guidance Pilot Project is a program in which, when a cardiac arrest patient occurs, 119 paramedics and medical institution doctors use smartphone video calls to perform emergency treatment at the level of a hospital emergency room during transportation.
This project involved nine base hospitals and 46 fire stations from Incheon Metropolitan City, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Gyeonggi Province, Chungnam Province, and Jeonbuk Province. Institutions, paramedics, and medical guidance doctors who actively played roles in resuscitating cardiac arrest patients were selected and awarded.
Additionally, Professor Sun Kyung-hoon of the Department of Emergency Medicine was honored by being selected as the 2022 Outstanding Medical Guidance Doctor and received the Director of the National Medical Center Award.
Professor Sun was recognized for his dedicated efforts toward the Smart Medical Guidance Field Resuscitation Project aimed at increasing the survival rate of cardiac arrest patients.
Kim Sunpyo, Director of the Regional Emergency Medical Center (Head of Emergency Medicine) at Chosun University Hospital, said, “Since 2015, Chosun University Hospital has been closely cooperating with the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters to promote the Smart Medical Guidance Pilot Project to improve the survival rate of emergency patients. We will continue to do our best to advance emergency medical care and improve services through smart medical guidance.”
