Daejeon City Operates 'Legal Home Doctor' to Eliminate Legal Welfare Blind Spots

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is addressing the blind spots in legal welfare through the operation of the ‘Legal Home Doctor’ program.

On the 10th, the city announced that it will operate the ‘Legal Home Doctor,’ which provides legal consultations by directly visiting socially and economically vulnerable groups.

The Legal Home Doctor program supports legal services such as legal consultations, legal education, guidance on litigation procedures, and connections to legal aid corporations and social welfare organizations for basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, people with disabilities, and multicultural families.

The areas supported include primary legal services related to daily life law such as ▲claims and debts ▲labor relations and wages ▲divorce, parental rights, and custody ▲personal rehabilitation and bankruptcy ▲compensation for damages, all provided free of charge.

Applications for support can be made by calling directly to the offices where the Legal Home Doctor is stationed: ▲Daejeon City Hall ▲Dong-gu Office ▲Yuseong-gu Office, or by making a reservation on the Legal Home Doctor website before visiting.

For more detailed information regarding the operation of the Legal Home Doctor, inquiries can be made to the city hall’s Legal and Regulatory Affairs Office.

Meanwhile, from 2018 to last year, the city conducted 3,176 legal consultations through the operation of the Legal Home Doctor. Additionally, it provided 134 legal education sessions, 402 referrals for legal aid, and assistance with drafting legal documents in 34 cases, among other legal services.
