[Asia Economy Reporter Myung-hwan Lee] SK Corporation, together with its bio affiliates such as SK Biopharm and SK Pharmteco, will hold a networking event in the United States to expand global partnerships.

On the 10th, SK announced that on the 11th (local time), it will host the 'SK Bio Night' event at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco, USA, with about 100 participants from around 50 companies including SK's pharmaceutical and bio companies, global partners, and investment firms.

The event will be attended by the new management team including SK Vice Chairman Dong-hyun Jang, SK Biopharm President Dong-hoon Lee, SK Pharmteco President Yog Algrim, and SK Bio Investment Center Head Yeontae Kim. These companies recently appointed new CEOs and investment center heads to proactively respond to changes in the global pharmaceutical and bio markets and secure future business opportunities.

SK Bio Investment Center Head Yeontae Kim will explain the efforts made so far and future directions to expand the business area beyond a portfolio focused on synthetic drugs into the biopharmaceutical field. SK Biopharm President Dong-hoon Lee will present the global market expansion status of the epilepsy treatment 'Cenobamate' (Xcopri) and SK Biopharm's strategy for building a next-generation innovative drug pipeline. SK Pharmteco President Yog Algrim will introduce the business vision, competitiveness, and operational direction as a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).

Since the early stages of its pharmaceutical and bio business, SK has focused on synthetic new drugs and cell and gene therapy (CGT) CDMO businesses centered on the United States and Europe, the largest global markets, based on a thorough localization strategy.

Meanwhile, SK plans to continuously discover various business cooperation and investment opportunities in global markets including the United States through this event. SK Bio Investment Center Head Yeontae Kim said, "This event is a great opportunity to showcase our growth to the world and expand global partnerships," adding, "We will seize growth opportunities through bio business localization centered on global market bases such as the United States and Europe."
