In the Cultural Tourism Market Development Project, Masan Fish Market, Goseong Market, and Uiryeong Market were selected to develop and operate market tour courses or experience programs linked to regional characteristics. This project supports the development of representative market products and the pioneering of sales channels for specialized products through promotion and marketing, providing up to 1 billion KRW over a maximum of two years.
In the First Step Foundation Project, Changwon Sodap Market was selected, supporting markets with no prior support history in specialized market projects but with high development potential, providing up to 300 million KRW for up to one year.
In the Youth Mall Revitalization Project, Geochang Market was selected, supporting joint marketing, consulting, education, and other software-centered activities for already established youth malls, providing from 100 million KRW up to a maximum of 400 million KRW per mall.
In the Old Electrical Wiring Maintenance Project, Changwon Sangnam Market was selected to support the replacement of old wiring, piping work, replacement of lights and outlets within individual stores for fire prevention purposes in traditional markets, with national funding support up to 500 million KRW.
In the Fire Alarm Facility Installation Project, Gimhae Dongsang Market and Sancheong Danseong Market were selected to support the installation of fire detection facilities and CCTV for fire monitoring in common areas within traditional markets, providing up to 800,000 KRW per individual store for total project costs.
In the Market Management Package Support Project, 24 markets including Changwon Dogye Couple Market and Yangsan Deokgye Market were selected to autonomously choose and receive support for policy services such as marketing, market managers, and delivery managers within the allocated budget limits, providing from 30 million KRW up to a maximum of 600 million KRW per market.
Choi Yeol-su, head of the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, said, “We hope this support project will serve as a stepping stone for the recovery and leap forward of traditional markets facing the triple hardships of inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates. There is a high possibility of additional recruitment within this year for the fire alarm facility and old electrical wiring maintenance projects, so markets interested are encouraged to prepare their applications in advance.”
