Jeju Fire Department, 119 Emergency Medical Service Quality Management Evaluation... 'Best Excellence' for 2 Consecutive Years

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters was selected as the best institution nationwide in the quality management field of 119 emergency medical services, hosted by the National Fire Agency, for the second consecutive year in 2022 following 2021.

According to the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters on the 9th, the 119 emergency medical service quality management evaluation is a system that focuses on evaluating the appropriate selection rate of hospitals for transporting critically ill emergency patients and the rate of emergency treatment implementation among 18 city and provincial fire headquarters.

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters achieved outstanding results in emergency quality by maintaining a top national ranking in the pre-hospital return of spontaneous circulation rate for cardiac arrest patients through measures such as establishing a three-person crew system in ambulance vehicles, establishing a multi-dispatch system for critically ill emergency patients, and operating five special emergency squads.

Additionally, continuous efforts to enhance emergency medical technicians' professional capabilities through ongoing training, real-time video medical guidance between emergency specialists and dispatch personnel, and evaluation and feedback on emergency activities through the designation of dedicated emergency medical directors were highly evaluated for continuously strengthening emergency quality services.

Park Geun-oh, head of the Fire Safety Headquarters, said, “We will make various efforts such as strengthening emergency medical technician training and discovering emergency policies suitable for the Jeju region to continuously provide high-quality emergency services.”

Meanwhile, Jeju Fire has proven its top-level emergency response capabilities nationwide by ranking first among 19 city and provincial fire headquarters in the 2022 disaster site emergency response training evaluation and the Korea Emergency Activity Competition hosted by the National Fire Agency, receiving the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.
