Seven Eleven announced on the 9th that it has launched the contactless direct transaction service "Seven Pickup" in collaboration with Junggonara, the largest secondhand trading platform in Korea.
With the Seven Pickup service, sellers can select up to three Seven Eleven stores where they wish to conduct transactions when uploading items on the Junggonara application (app). Once the transaction is completed through Junggonara Pay, a deposit exchange voucher is issued to the seller, who then visits the selected Seven Eleven store to consign the item. After the consignment is completed, a pickup exchange voucher is issued to the buyer, who can present the voucher at the designated Seven Eleven store to collect the secondhand item.
The consignment items are limited to a maximum price of 500,000 KRW and a weight of up to 20kg. Securities, precious metals, jewelry, antiques, tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and inflammable materials are excluded.
Seven Eleven will initially introduce the Seven Pickup service at about 250 stores located in the three Gangnam districts (Gangnam, Seocho, Songpa). By the end of this month, the service will expand to over 6,000 stores nationwide, with plans to extend it to all stores within the year.
A Seven Eleven representative stated, "As the secondhand trading market continues to grow, Seven Pickup will become another innovative icon in the convenience store service sector, allowing customers to use it safely and securely both online and offline."
