[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is set to conduct a main LED pilot test of the Baegun Tiger content ahead of the official opening of the Baegun Square Media Wall installed at the main gate of the Nam-gu Office building in February.
They are also accelerating the completion of the Baegun Square Media Wall project by publicly recruiting an agency to attract advertisements for public purposes.
According to Nam-gu on the 6th, the Baegun Square Media Wall is a media art installation that provides various attractions, key information, and news about residents' daily lives through a giant LED display that integrates 3D technology with anamorphic illusion immersive content.
Nam-gu is currently installing a giant curved LED display approximately 42.4 meters long and 9.9 meters high in front of the main gate of the office building, and is conducting final inspections such as installing sound and operation systems ahead of the official opening in February.
Additionally, next week, an on-site LED test will be conducted for the Baegun Tiger content, one of the main themes of the Baegun Square Media Wall.
The Baegun Tiger content features a tiger that roars "Grrr" every hour on the screen to indicate the time, and it was produced with a duration of 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Nam-gu plans to carefully check the resolution and other details before the official opening and present a dynamic work that will captivate the attention of Gwangju citizens starting in February.
Along with this, various advertisements for public purposes will also be showcased through the Baegun Square Media Wall.
The recruitment process for an agency to attract advertisements is currently underway, and the selection of the company will be conducted on the 11th through Onbid (the Korea Asset Management Corporation’s electronic asset disposal system) using a total amount bidding and general competitive method.
The company selected through the electronic bidding will perform advertisement attraction agency duties for one year from February to the end of January next year.
A Nam-gu official said, “The Baegun Square Media Wall will become a landmark that provides new attractions and enjoyment to the citizens of Gwangju. In particular, Baegun Square is expected to transform into a complex cultural space combining people, culture, and nature, becoming a representative landmark of Gwangju.”
