[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City announced that the Busan Forestry Cooperative (Chairman Sanggi Lee) donated 10 million KRW in neighborly love funds for the Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign to the Busan Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Geumsik Choi, hereinafter ‘Busan Sarangui Yeolmae’) at 2 p.m. on the 5th in the 22nd-floor conference room of City Hall.


At the donation ceremony, Sanggi Lee, chairman of the city forestry cooperative, Geunhee Lee, director of the city Environmental Water Policy Office, and Eundeok Park, secretary general of Sarangui Yeolmae, attended.


The ‘Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign’ is a fundraising event for helping underprivileged neighbors held from December 1 last year to January 31 this year. The collected funds will be used in four major support areas: emergency support for vulnerable households in marginalized groups, solving community problems, caring for socially disadvantaged people, and supporting education and self-reliance.


Chairman Sanggi Lee said, “As an institution representing forest owners and forestry workers, we will strive to become a cooperative loved by citizens through active social contribution activities.”


Director Geunhee Lee of the Environmental Water Policy Office said, “Thank you for donating funds for neighbors in need during the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and please make sure that the precious funds are used where they are most needed.”


In response, Eundeok Park, secretary general of Busan Sarangui Yeolmae, said, “We will do our best to deliver warm love to marginalized neighbors with the donated funds.”


The Busan Forestry Cooperative, established in 1962, is a representative non-profit organization in the forestry sector of Busan. Based on accumulated technology, it undertakes forestry projects such as forest roads, erosion control, and forest tending, provides financial services for forest owners and forestry workers, contributes to the development of the forestry industry, and carries out various social contribution activities such as donating funds to help neighbors and reducing rental fees.
