[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do announced on the 6th that it will hold the '2023 Naejangsan Ice Festival' from the 13th to the 17th at the Naejangsan Water Park area.
The city planned this festival to promote the charming winter scenery of Naejangsan, as attractive as the autumn foliage, and to revitalize the local economy by attracting tourists through the development of a winter festival during the off-season for tourism.
At the opening ceremony on the 13th, a drone show and a media fusion LED tron performance that beautifully decorate the sky over Naejangsan will be held.
About 200 drones will create various shapes such as Naejangsan autumn leaves, an ice castle, and a wish tree.
In the center of the event site, various ice sculptures including an ice castle and igloos will be exhibited.
A sports park where children and adults can fully enjoy the winter romance with ice slides, ice sleds, and ice curling will also be created.
Family movies that the whole family can watch together will be screened at the festival site.
Experience events such as balloon art, bubble magic shows, and face painting for children will be held, and unique programs such as making Ssanghwa tea and an ice workshop where visitors can carve and experience ice firsthand will be introduced.
Additionally, a Pungnyu Hanmadang where tourists and performers mingle and communicate, a youth dance festival, and performances by local culture and art clubs will provide unforgettable winter night memories.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “I hope families, couples, and friends will heal their tired bodies and minds and create unforgettable memories at the Naejangsan Ice Festival full of winter romance,” adding, “We will prioritize safety and strive to make the festival full of joy and happiness.”
