[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it will publicly recruit youth organizations to participate in the ‘2023 Youth Village Making Support Project,’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which aims for youth and local communities to grow together.

The current recruitment, which runs until February 3, will prioritize areas with declining populations and select 12 organizations. Each selected organization will receive a total of 600 million KRW over three years, with 200 million KRW provided annually.

Youth organizations wishing to participate in the Youth Village Making Support Project can check the county office website or the Ministry of the Interior and Safety website, prepare a project plan, and submit it to the Future Development Officer at Hamyang County Office by 6 p.m. on February 3.

Last year, in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s competition, the group “Supsok Unnideul” was selected as the final project recipient, securing 600 million KRW over three years. With 29 participants, they are operating various programs such as youth spaces, “Jiok-sal-i” experience, and youth startup support.

Additionally, a nationwide joint launch ceremony for youth villages, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was held in Hamyang-gun, attended by about 300 people including 27 youth village representatives from across the country as well as urban and regional youth.

Furthermore, Hamyang-gun is supporting projects to minimize youth population outflow and create conditions for youth population inflow, including ▲ youth “Jiok-sal-i” support (1 location), youth migration settlement support (6 locations), and ▲ youth monthly rent support and other housing and living stability projects.

A county official stated, “We will continue to provide support to minimize the net outflow of youth population and lay the foundation for youth population inflow,” adding, “We hope that local youth will show great interest and participation in the Youth Village Making Support Project again this year.”
