Return Gifts: Seaweed? Selected Sets of Dasima, Salted Seaweed, and Dwaeji Gukbap
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Dong-guk] Busan Gijang-gun announced on the 5th that since the first day of this year, the implementation day of the Hometown Love Donation System, a series of donations have continued, mainly from local expatriates.
The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate to their hometown, and local governments collect these donations to use for resident welfare and regional development. Donations can be made up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than the resident registration address.
Donation methods include online donations through the ‘Hometown Love e-eum’ website and offline donations by visiting any NongHyup branch nationwide.
As benefits for donors, donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully tax-deductible, and amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW receive a 16.5% tax credit. Donors can also receive thank-you gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount.
Gijang-gun has selected three items as thank-you gifts for the Hometown Love Donation System: ▲ Seaweed and kelp set ▲ Salted seaweed set ▲ Pork soup set, and is actively promoting them.
The seaweed and kelp selected as thank-you gifts are major specialties of Gijang-gun, known for their excellent taste and quality, and have been famous as premium foods served on the royal table since the Joseon Dynasty. Additionally, pork soup is a representative dish of Busan, provided as a convenient and healthy meal kit through standardized processes.
County Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “I sincerely thank everyone who has shown love and interest in our hometown Gijang by donating. The donations will be used valuably for the welfare of residents and regional development, and we will repay by building ‘a city embracing happiness, opening the future, Gijang.’”
