Naver Pay Payment Failure for 40 Minutes..."Error During System Update"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Naver's simple payment service Naver Pay experienced a malfunction on the 5th afternoon during which payments were not processed properly for about 40 minutes, but the issue has since been resolved.

At around 5:10 PM, Naver Pay announced, "The issues with Naver Pay order/payment failures, refund processing failures for orders, and failure to generate orders after Pay Money withdrawal have been resolved," adding, "We will strive to provide a more stable service."

The error occurred at approximately 4:10 PM and was fixed by 4:52 PM.

Users expressed inconvenience as they were unable to place orders on Naver Shopping, which accepts Naver Pay, during this time. Complaints also arose that Naver Pay could not be used for a while on external services such as Baedal Minjok.

A Naver official explained, "The error occurred during a system change operation aimed at strengthening the stability of the payment infrastructure."
