Seongnam City Exercises Preliminary Injunction Authority for 'Winter University Student Local Administration Experience Training'

[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province has started implementing the '2023 Winter University Student Local Administration Experience Training' from the 5th through the exercise of the prior disposition authority, which was difficult to proceed under a quasi-budget system.

The prior disposition authority is the power exercised by the head of a local government to use the budget for urgent projects when the budget bill for the current year has not been passed by the council.

Seongnam City announced on the 5th that it selected 210 university students who have lived in Seongnam for more than one year to conduct the winter university student local administration experience training until the 22nd of next month. The training will be held at city hall, business offices, and public institutions, five days a week, three hours a day.

The city also prepared various programs such as participation in job fairs during the training period. The city will pay the trainees a training allowance of 35,190 KRW per day, applying this year's living wage hourly rate of 11,730 KRW for three hours a day.

Shin Sang-jin, mayor of Seongnam City, stated, "The university student local administration experience project, which helps young people gain social experience and supports tuition fees, was hastily promoted due to the time constraints of the vacation period."
