T'way Air "Watch Watcha While Flying on the Plane"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] T’way Air announced on the 5th that it will continue its partnership with WATCHA in 2023, providing passengers with free access to a variety of video content.

Since 2020, T’way Air has offered the WATCHA partnership service, allowing passengers to enjoy unlimited and free video content as part of its efforts to enhance in-flight entertainment.

WATCHA is a service that aims to help more people discover their tastes and find content that suits them, offering unlimited access to over 100,000 titles across various genres including movies, dramas, documentaries, animation, and webtoons.

Unlike major airlines, T’way Air does not operate in-seat monitor (AVOD) entertainment systems but instead offers reasonable airfare. To meet customer demand for content viewing, it has chosen a unique in-flight entertainment service through the WATCHA partnership.

Until the end of this year, WATCHA coupons can be issued on the T’way Air website and mobile app through events, reservation inquiries, and purchase completion pages. By entering the passenger’s name and reservation number, 50,000 monthly coupons for a 10-day premium pass will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

The premium pass supports up to UHD 4K quality and simultaneous playback on four devices, with the ability to store up to 100 videos on devices.

Passengers can download movies, dramas, and other content they want to watch in advance onto their personal devices and comfortably enjoy them in airplane mode during the flight. Additionally, WATCHA offers a variety of children’s content, making it a good option for families traveling with infants and young children.

With the introduction of the A330-300 aircraft last year and the launch of medium- and long-haul routes such as Singapore and Sydney, Australia, customer demand for in-flight entertainment has increased, and T’way Air expects the WATCHA content service to lead to greater customer satisfaction.

Customers benefit not only from cost advantages but also from having the freedom to choose and watch desired videos instead of being limited to content unilaterally provided by the airline.

Furthermore, the A330-300 and B737-8 aircraft introduced last year are equipped with electronic device holders and USB charging ports at each seat, providing a comfortable in-flight viewing environment.

A T’way Air official stated, “We expect customer satisfaction to improve with the extension of this unique in-flight entertainment service through the WATCHA partnership,” adding, “In addition, various and abundant partnership service benefits can be enjoyed through the T’way Air website.”
