Yoon Attends New Year's Meeting with Cultural Artists: "Will Do My Best to Provide Support"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] President Yoon Suk-yeol and First Lady Kim Keon-hee encouraged the cultural and artistic community and exchanged New Year's greetings on the 4th.

The presidential couple attended the '2023 New Year's Meeting of Cultural and Artistic Figures' held at the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, that afternoon.

About 80 key figures from the cultural and artistic world were invited to this New Year's meeting, ranging from veterans such as actress Park Jung-ja, director Song Seung-hwan, ballerina Kang Su-jin, and writer Seok Chang-woo to emerging artists like writer Jung Eun-hye and choreographer Young Jae.

At the event, President Yoon expressed gratitude for the hard work of cultural and artistic figures. He said, "When I attend foreign multilateral meetings, I often hear about our country's culture and arts," adding, "This is because Korea has grown significantly not only with BTS but also in the cultural and artistic fields and industries to a comparable position."

He continued, "I sincerely thank you for greatly enhancing our nation's prestige and instilling emotional and cultural depth in our citizens and the younger generation."

President Yoon encouraged, "In the new year, the government will do its utmost to support your activities even a little more," and added, "Let us all unite our efforts for national development in the new year. Your diligent activities greatly contribute to the growth of our country in many areas."
