[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] A sitting judge received a one-month suspension as disciplinary action for driving without a license while having his license revoked due to drunk driving.
According to the legal community and official gazettes on the 4th, the Supreme Court imposed a one-month suspension on Judge A of the Seoul Family Court on December 26 last year, in accordance with the Judges Disciplinary Act.
The Supreme Court stated the reason for the disciplinary action was "damaging the dignity as a judge and undermining the court's prestige."
Previously, Judge A's license had been revoked in September 2020 due to drunk driving, but it was investigated that he drove without a license for about 2 km on a road in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on April 8 last year.
Judge A also received a one-month suspension as disciplinary action at the time of the drunk driving incident.
