[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has turned on a green light for securing funding for key projects in the 8th local government term by securing the largest-ever local allocation tax.
Hapcheon-gun announced on the 4th that it received prior notification from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the largest-ever local allocation tax for 2023, amounting to 393 billion KRW based on the initial budget (365 billion KRW in general allocation tax and 28 billion KRW in real estate allocation tax). This represents an increase of 53.1 billion KRW, or 15.6%, compared to last year.
To secure the local allocation tax, Hapcheon-gun has been diligently collecting and managing various statistical data over the past year, and through meetings with department officials and joint administrative work, it investigated and analyzed the tax calculation indicators and actively reflected them in the calculation data, which is evaluated as the result of these efforts.
County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol said, “With the securing of the largest-ever local allocation tax, we expect to smoothly proceed with various pending projects of the 8th local government term without interruption,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to build Hapcheon where everyone can have hope as much as they dream.”
