Strengthening Quick Commerce Competitiveness at GS25 Nationwide Stores in Partnership with GS Retail
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheolhyun] A service that allows customers to receive convenience store products within one hour of ordering has been launched nationwide. Delivery app Yogiyo announced on the 3rd that it has partnered with GS Retail to launch 'Yopyeon Convenience Store,' a service that enables fast delivery of convenience store products.
Yopyeon Convenience Store is a quick commerce (instant delivery) service created through the collaboration of Yogiyo's delivery platform expertise and GS Retail's nationwide distribution network. It offers convenience store shopping with delivery and packaging services within one hour, just like ordering food through the Yogiyo app. The service's strengths include Yogiyo's convenient ordering and payment system and GS25, Korea's leading convenience store, with its differentiated private brand products.
Yogiyo plans to start by opening 500 Yopyeon Convenience Stores based on GS25 stores nationwide this month and expand to about 6,000 stores within the first half of the year to provide delivery services. Packaging services will also be operated in 500 stores initially, the same as delivery, and then gradually expanded to over 10,000 stores to increase customer accessibility. Customers can conveniently prepay through the Yogiyo app and pick up their items at a nearby GS25 store at their preferred time. The minimum order amount for Yopyeon Convenience Store delivery is 10,000 KRW, with a basic delivery fee of 3,000 KRW.
Park Woohyun, head of Yogiyo's New Business Division, said, "Following Yomart, the launch of Yopyeon Convenience Store maximizes the core competencies of both Yogiyo and GS Retail, providing customers with a differentiated ordering experience and more choices." He added, "Based on a nationwide quick commerce infrastructure, we will continue to do our best to ensure that anyone can experience convenient instant delivery services through Yogiyo."
