[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Emart24 announced on the 3rd that it sold 3.22 million bottles of wine last year as the number of ‘home drinking’ customers greatly increased.


According to Emart24, the growth of ros? and sparkling wines was particularly notable. Sales of ros? and sparkling wines increased by 30% compared to the previous year, showing a growth rate twice as high as red wine (14%) and white wine (16%). In particular, wine sales through reservation purchases on the Emart24 application (app) increased significantly. Last month, the number of liquor reservation purchase orders increased 2.4 times compared to the same month last year. By age group, customers in their 30s accounted for the largest share (42.4%), followed by those in their 20s (30.2%) and 40s (21.2%).


Emart24 will introduce ‘Como Sangria’ as its first wine of the year. Como Sangria is a sweet wine with the flavor of red wine harmonized with the aroma of various tropical fruits. The Emart24 Como series has expanded to nine varieties. To commemorate the launch of this product, an event is being held until the end of this month where customers can purchase Como wine at a discounted price of 7,900 KRW per bottle (15,800 KRW for two bottles) with a 2,000 KRW discount per bottle when purchasing two or more bottles. Additionally, Handpicked Barossa Valley Shiraz, Fortune by Wilhelm Weil Tradition, and Ghost Pine Zinfandel have been selected as wines of the month and are offered with discount benefits.


An Emart24 official said, “It seems that our strategy to diversify and segment products according to the increasingly diverse consumer demands and to enhance accessibility for online and offline purchases has worked. This year as well, we will introduce wines from various regions, varieties, and price ranges, and through differentiated marketing, we will make sure that customers think of Emart24 when purchasing wine.”
