Clear Energy of Dobongsan Meets Craft Beer

Establishment of Cooperative System for Developing Local Signature Craft Beer and Promoting Dobongsan Craft Brewery

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobongsan brand craft beer is coming out.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) signed a "Business Agreement for Developing Dobongsan Brand Craft Beer" with Squeeze Brewery Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Dae-heon) on December 29 last year.

This agreement was promoted to publicize Dobongsan and other tourism resources in Dobong-gu and to revitalize the local economy. Through this agreement, the two organizations will develop a local craft beer themed around Dobongsan, a representative landmark of Seoul, and subsequently establish a cooperative system related to promoting the Dobongsan craft beer brewery.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "With the cooperation of the two organizations, we expect the development of Dobongsan brand craft beer to proceed smoothly, helping to introduce Dobongsan to domestic and international tourists and serve as an opportunity to revitalize local tourism."

The Dobongsan brand beer is scheduled to be launched in the first half of 2023 after product development and prototype testing processes.

Eunpyeong-gu Senior Job Competition Rate 1.5 to 1... Increase in Applicants

Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that the competition rate for this year's 'Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project' was 1.5 to 1.

As a result of recruiting participants for the senior job project from the 5th to the 16th of last month, 6,616 people applied for 4,560 positions, accounting for 7.4% of the senior population in Eunpyeong-gu. The number of applicants increased by 573 compared to last year, and this year's competition rate rose to 1.5 to 1 from last year's 1.3 to 1.

Currently, the senior population aged 60 and over in Eunpyeong-gu is about 89,312, which is 19% of the total population, ranking fourth among Seoul's autonomous districts.

The district attributes the higher competition rate to population aging, an increase in healthy seniors able to work, and growing interest in jobs due to prolonged economic downturn.

The age group with the most applicants was those in their 70s, accounting for 57% of all applicants, with female applicants numbering about 4,500, more than twice that of males.

The results of this year's senior job selection will be individually announced through each executing agency at 10 a.m. on the 6th. Final participants will be selected in order of highest scores based on income recognition amount, household composition, and activity capability scores.

Even after the final announcement, waiting list applications can be made through each executing agency. Those who failed in the first round can register as waiting candidates and participate in senior jobs if mid-term vacancies occur.

Earlier, despite a significant reduction in public service-type senior jobs due to government policy, the district separately allocated 1 billion KRW in district funds to supply senior jobs at the same scale as last year. It took a proactive approach among Seoul's autonomous districts to stabilize seniors' income.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, "I hope senior jobs help provide a stable old age life," and added, "We will do our best to actively secure jobs in line with the increasing demand for senior jobs."
