[New Year's Message] Hanmi Pharm: "Let's Create a New History Surpassing Previous Generations in the Next Half Century"

[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Song Youngsook, Chairwoman of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group, delivered a New Year's message on the 2nd, saying, "Let's surpass the late Chairman Im Seonggi," and conveyed the message that "the coming half-century should be recorded as a new history created by the executives and employees of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group."

On the same day, Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group announced its New Year's management slogan, "A New 50 Years, Global Hanmi!" and welcomed the new year by watching a kickoff ceremony video through the company’s internal network, which included Chairwoman Song Youngsook’s New Year's address, last year's achievements, and this year's new vision.

In her New Year's message titled "You Are the Protagonists of the New 50 Years of History," Chairwoman Song recalled, "The late Chairman Im Seonggi founded Hanmi Pharmaceutical 50 years ago with the spirit of 'Creation (Chang), Righteousness (Ui), and Action (Haeng)' in his heart," and "He boldly walked the path of challenge toward the vision of making better medicines for precious lives."

Adding that "Now, Hanmi Pharmaceutical has firmly established itself as a leading research and development (R&D)-centered pharmaceutical company representing South Korea," Chairwoman Song continued, "If the past half-century was the history of the late Chairman Im Seonggi, the coming half-century should be recorded as a new history created by the executives and employees of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group," and encouraged the staff by saying, "Let us all work together in 2023 to surpass the late Chairman Im Seonggi."

She cited major innovations from last year, including ▲ the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for the biopharmaceutical drug 'Rolontis' (U.S. name Rolbedon), ▲ the publication of the efficacy of the combination drug 'Rosuzet' in the academic journal The Lancet, ▲ the expansion of 20 designations as 'Orphan Drugs' for innovative new drugs, and ▲ achieving record-high sales and operating profits.

In conclusion, Chairwoman Song emphasized, "Surpassing the late Chairman Im Seonggi is a task that must be accomplished," and stated, "I look forward to your bold and courageous challenges and innovations as the protagonists of the new 50 years of history."
