If You Are a Rabbit Zodiac Mom or Dad, Free Admission at Seoul Sangsangnara

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Seoul SangSangNara announced on the 2nd that it will hold a free admission event for parents born in the Year of the Rabbit in celebration of the Year of the Rabbit. Adults born in the Year of the Rabbit can visit the Seoul SangSangNara ticket office and present their ID by the 31st of this month for free admission on the same day.

Seoul SangSangNara is operating three programs titled "Wise like a Rabbit, Hop!" to celebrate the 2023 Year of the Rabbit (Gyemyo Year, 癸卯年), which anyone can participate in.

In the classic novel "Ttokkijeon," the rabbit is depicted as a wise and clever animal that narrowly escaped the crisis of almost giving its liver to the Dragon King of the sea. The "Ears Up Like a Rabbit!" program, which allows visitors to appreciate various books related to the rabbit's wisdom and make rabbit ear hairpins to transform like a rabbit, is offered free of charge.

Additionally, there is a program where participants can appreciate the rabbit's image in folk paintings with museum teachers and make a "Year of the Rabbit Fortune Pouch" to wish for blessings in the year. "Hop! Let's Play Like a Rabbit" is a fun creative expression play program where participants learn about the rabbit's physical features that help it survive predators (excellent hearing, powerful hind legs for fast running, front paws for digging deep burrows, etc.) and become a rabbit to engage in creative activities.

The exhibition-linked convergence program "Imagination Alley Photo Studio," designed to help children understand and explore the exhibition through engaging activities, is also being held.

Moreover, two cooking programs are offered where children can explore various ingredients at their level and experience a sense of accomplishment by cooking themselves.

On the 23rd, a special exhibition of the mobile art play experience "Discovery Bag - Jang Ukjin's Picture Box," jointly developed with Yangju City Jang Ukjin Art Museum, was opened. "Discovery Bag - Jang Ukjin's Picture Box" allows visitors to appreciate the works "Family" and "Street Trees" by Jang Ukjin, a representative painter of modern and contemporary Korean art, feel beauty and warmth, and enjoy creative expression by freely rearranging elements of the artwork made into puzzle pieces as if becoming the artist Jang Ukjin. The exhibition is held simultaneously at Seoul SangSangNara and Yangju City Jang Ukjin Art Museum, operated separately by the two institutions, and in March, the experiential exhibition items will be swapped and presented to visitors.

Kim Yeonju, Seoul City Childcare Officer, said, "We have prepared various educational programs where children can experience and enjoy the joy of learning on their own," adding, "We hope that children and families visiting Seoul SangSangNara during the winter vacation will have a meaningful and happy time."
