[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The usage locations for the resident card in the customized administrative service app 'Gyeonggi DdokD', which utilizes public MyData, will be expanded to 83 places.
Gyeonggi DdokD provides ▲ 'Customized Benefit Information Service' such as welfare information and public recruitment information for residents ▲ 'Resident Card Service', an identity verification service based on public MyData ▲ 'Electronic Wallet Service' that allows users to store and use various electronic certificates on their phones ▲ 'My Report Service' that offers residents' MyData information in a report format useful for daily life.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 1st that from the 2nd, residents can receive applicable discounts by presenting the resident card on the Gyeonggi DdokD app at 83 public facilities without separate proof documents, which will verify residence, age, number of children, and whether the user is disabled or a merit recipient.
The expanded public facilities include 30 locations: 23 in Siheung City such as Gaetgol Camping Site, 3 in Anyang City including Anyang Indoor Swimming Pool, 3 in Pyeongtaek City including Buraksan Forest Experience Center, and 1 in Pocheon City including Cheonbosan Natural Recreation Forest. Previously, the card was usable at 53 locations.
The resident card on the Gyeonggi DdokD app displays the user's name, address, age, and gender, and by clicking on detailed view, the names and birthdates of cohabiting family members can also be confirmed.
The resident card can be issued by installing the Gyeonggi DdokD app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, completing identity verification, and agreeing to the card issuance procedure. It can be used immediately after issuance. The province explained that the entire process takes only 5 minutes, significantly reducing cases where eligible users miss discounts and the inconvenience of carrying proof documents.
The province plans to continuously expand usage locations so that residents can use the resident card at sports facilities and major tourist attractions managed by public facilities in 31 cities and counties this year.
Lee Su-jae, Director of the AI Big Data Industry Division of the province, said, "We will continue to improve the Gyeonggi DdokD app and provide convenient experiences for residents."
