Hampyeong-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution in 'Food and Public Hygiene Management Performance Evaluation'

Securing 10 Million Won for Business Promotion Expenses

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong-gun Health Center was selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2022 Food and Public Hygiene Management City/County Performance Evaluation’ hosted by Jeonnam Province.

According to the county on the 30th, the county won the Excellence Award in the ‘Food Culture Improvement’ category and the Encouragement Award in the ‘Food and Public Hygiene Management’ category in the ‘2022 Food and Public Hygiene Management City/County Performance Evaluation’.

The county secured a prize money of 10 million KRW by winning the Excellence Award in the ‘Food Culture Improvement’ category.

This evaluation was prepared to select outstanding cities/counties that contributed to the safety management of food and public hygiene for residents through the creation of a food and public hygiene environment and improvement of food culture.

Jeonnam Province evaluated 22 cities and counties in the province based on 20 indicators in 5 sectors of food and public hygiene and 21 indicators in 8 sectors of food culture improvement.

The county is known to have received high evaluations for contributing to the creation of a safe hygiene environment by implementing food poisoning prevention management, securing the safety of distributed food, operating safe restaurants, and hygiene grading system throughout the year.

Jung Myung-hee, head of the health center, said, “We will do our best to provide safe food and public hygiene services to residents and tourists next year as well,” and added, “We will make every effort to ensure reliable hygiene administration.”

Meanwhile, Hampyeong-gun held a meeting on the 29th to revitalize the food theme street, encouraging local businesses to participate in the food culture improvement movement and discussing the ‘2023 Hampyeongcheonji Korean Beef and Eel Specialty Restaurant Development Project.’
