[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The detailed specifications of Samsung Electronics' new mid-range model 'Galaxy A34,' scheduled for release next year, have been revealed. Instead of Samsung's own application processor (AP) 'Exynos,' it uses a MediaTek AP from Taiwan, and although it is a mid-range product, it features a Super AMOLED display to ensure cost-effectiveness.
According to IT specialist site SamMobile on the 30th, the detailed specifications of the 2023 model 'Galaxy A34 5G' were registered in the Geekbench list on the same day. The model number is SM-AD346N, which appears to be a domestic unlocked model. The new product is powered by MediaTek's mobile AP, which mainly handles the mid-range line. It is expected to be equipped with an octa-core 5G chipset presumed to be the 'Dimensity 1080.' There were market expectations that Samsung's own AP, Exynos, would be used, but this was incorrect. In the central processing unit (CPU) performance test, it scored 778 points for single-core and 2332 points for multi-core. It is a mid-range smartphone equipped with 6GB of RAM and supports the Android 13 operating system. The industry expects the external storage to be 128GB.
The most notable feature is the diversification of colors. According to the 360-degree rendering images released by Tech Outlook, the A34 will be launched in four colors: Graphite, Violet, Lime, and Silver. Instead of black tones, vivid colors bring a sense of liveliness. The display is a 6.5-inch 1080-pixel Super AMOLED display supporting a 90Hz refresh rate.
