Organizational Restructuring Implemented as of January 1, 2023, to Promote Pledge Projects in the 8th Elected Term
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) is implementing an organizational restructuring as of January 1, 2023, to ensure efficient organizational management and smooth promotion of pledge projects in the 8th elected term.
From September to November, the district finalized the restructuring plan through department-level self-assessments, surveys of all employees, advisory consultations with a joint public-private organizational diagnosis team, organizational diagnosis by Dongdaemun-gu’s junior board called Superhero, and district executive meetings.
Through this restructuring, the current Dongdaemun-gu organization, which consisted of 6 bureaus, 1 office, 2 deputy offices, 38 divisions, 14 neighborhoods, 217 teams, and 1 T/F team, will be changed to 6 bureaus, 1 office, 2 deputy offices, 38 divisions, 1 center, 14 neighborhoods, and 223 teams.
The main points of the restructuring include the establishment of the Future Happiness Policy Division to carry out core pledge items, and the creation of new teams such as the Fashion Apparel Sewing Team, Youth Policy Team, Single-Person Household Support Team, Jungnangcheon Riverside Management Team, and Urban Drone Team.
First, the newly established Future Happiness Policy Division will serve as the central axis for major pledge projects such as the development of the Cheongnyangni Station area and future smart city initiatives, strategically promoting key policy projects and current issues.
Teams for efficient work promotion are also being established. The Fashion Apparel Sewing Team will handle tasks to revitalize the fashion sewing industry. The Youth Policy Team will be newly created within the Job Policy Division to support youth, and the Single-Person Household Support Team will be established within the Welfare Policy Division to address the increasing number of single-person households.
In line with the 4th Industrial Revolution, the Urban Drone Team will be added to the Transportation Administration Division, and the Information and Communication Team will be established in the Smart City Division. Additionally, the Jungnangcheon Riverside Management Team will be created to develop and manage facilities in the Jungnangcheon riverside area, marking a comprehensive organizational restructuring for a new Dongdaemun-gu.
