[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Taewon] A woman in her 40s who stalked singer and actor Jung Jihoon and actress Kim Taehee has been indicted.

The Criminal Division 3 of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Changsoo) announced on the 29th that on the 27th, they indicted A (47) without detention for committing stalking crimes against the famous celebrities.

A was reported to have received three warnings for violating the Minor Offenses Act from March last year until October last year, before the Stalking Punishment Act was enforced. The Stalking Punishment Act came into effect on October 21 of last year.

However, on February 27, A rang the doorbell again and was arrested on the spot by police who responded to a report from Jung. On April 7, A even visited a beauty salon to stalk.

The police initially decided not to prosecute, stating that the acts before the enforcement of the Stalking Punishment Act did not violate the law and that the February act could not be seen as repetitive.

On the other hand, the prosecution interpreted that acts before the law's enforcement could be grounds for judging the continuity and repetition of a series of acts and requested the police to transfer the case. Subsequently, through supplementary investigation, the police revealed the acts up to April and indicted A.

A prosecution official stated, "We will continue to respond strictly to stalking crimes."
