[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Office of Education will provide the children's school commute safety system service "Safe Airo" starting from the new year.

According to the provincial Office of Education on the 28th, Gyeongnam Province proposed the project "Establishment of a Children's School Commute Traffic Safety Database (DB)" to strengthen traffic safety on children's school routes and provide comprehensive information on traffic safety in this year's national key data open support contest project, and was selected.

The provincial Office of Education will link the school route traffic safety facility DB, built with photos surveyed by Gyeongnam Province and the latest satellite navigation equipment, with Safe Airo.

Through this, the latest school route traffic safety information will be provided to parents and local residents, and a continuous maintenance system for school route traffic safety by institution will be established to prevent redundant investments.

Safe Airo provides local governments with analytical tools for facility improvement to prevent student traffic accidents.

It created electronic maps of major school routes of all elementary schools in the province, traffic safety facilities on the school routes, risk factors perceived by education consumers, and areas where traffic accidents occur.

An official from the provincial Office of Education said, "Safe Airo is the first school commute safety system established nationwide by our Office of Education," and added, "Schools will use it as traffic safety maps and educational materials for safe school route use, and residents will use it as a channel to submit opinions for traffic safety improvement."

Kwon Sang-tae, General Manager of Safety, said, "We contributed to streamlining the school commute safety prevention system by linking the outcomes of the children's school route traffic safety DB construction project among institutions," and added, "Preventing children's traffic accidents is not only the work of the Office of Education and schools but can achieve results when all institutions collaborate and residents pay attention."
