[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] A new game developed by the renowned first-person shooter (FPS) company Dragonfly is about to be officially released.
Dragonfly announced that the new FPS game, Special Force Ape Wars (SFAW), will begin its Pre-OBT (pre-open beta test) on the 29th.
After two years of development, the company is preparing for the official service launch by safely incorporating user feedback during this final phase. Special Force Ape Wars is scheduled to be published by its subsidiary DF Chain, aiming for a release in the first half of next year. Initially, it will be pre-released in the Philippines through Infinity Market before its official global launch.
Special Force Ape Wars refers to a war among apes (APE), featuring 12 original characters who were active in the previous Special Force 1 and 2 games, along with a newly introduced third species, the ape (APE), which is expected to enhance the game's enjoyment significantly.
Unlike the modern setting of the existing Special Force series, this survival genre game involves dynamic battles against monsters appearing in a fantasy world that transcends space and time limits, determining the ultimate winner. Besides battles between monsters and humans, the new third species, the ape (APE), appears from another dimension to engage in war through battles against human enemies in a battle royale format.
Additionally, the Pre-OBT will feature a solo mode, with plans to add 2-player team and 5-player team modes alongside a large-scale content update upon the official launch. Dragonfly expects that players will enjoy competitive gameplay through team play.
A Dragonfly representative stated, “During the Pre-OBT service period, we will gather user feedback to officially open the game,” adding, “With the introduction of the new character APE, which adds fresh excitement, we expect players to enjoy an even more engaging game.”
