Eunpyeong-gu Increases Veterans' Honor Allowance to 50,000 Won per Month Starting New Year

Eunpyeong-gu Increases Monthly Payment to 50,000 Won for National Veterans by 10,000 Won & Raises Lunar New Year Consolation Money from 40,000 to 60,000 Won

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that starting January next year, it will increase the veterans' honor allowance and the Lunar New Year consolation money to strengthen the respect for veterans.

From next year, the veterans' honor allowance will be raised from 40,000 KRW to 50,000 KRW per month, and the Lunar New Year consolation money will be increased from 40,000 KRW to 60,000 KRW.

Eunpyeong-gu provides veterans' honor allowances to honor national veterans, and currently, there are about 5,000 veterans in Eunpyeong.

The veterans' honor allowance is paid on the 25th of every month, and if it falls on a holiday, it is paid the day before. The Lunar New Year consolation money is paid once a year. This past Lunar New Year, about 5,670 national veterans received 40,000 KRW as holiday consolation money.

The recipients are national veterans, and for applications or inquiries, contact the veterans' officer at the local community service center of the resident's district.
