Busan Gijang-gun Jeonggwan Library Operates 'The Taste of Book Curation'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will hold the project "The Taste of Original Paintings and Picture Books for Citizens: Time to Chew Books" at Jeonggwan Library in Jeonggwan-eup from the 5th to the 29th.

This project is conducted as a public contest project hosted by Busan Library based on citizens' proposals, and it is a "reading culture event combining books, pictures, and music" where library users can experience picture books, a collection of art fields, from various perspectives.

The event is composed of three parts where participants can enjoy the taste of picture books in various ways such as picture book original painting exhibitions, author book talks, live painting (improvised drawing performances), and book curation: ▲The Taste of Picture Books and Original Paintings ▲The Taste of Book Talks ▲The Taste of Book Curation.

Among these, Jeonggwan Library will conduct the third part, "The Taste of Book Curation."

"Book curation" is a newly coined term combining BOOK and Curation, meaning the selection of several books on a specific theme to propose to readers.

From the 5th to the 29th, an exhibition of picture books related to "The Great Apaturailia" by Geulroyeon Publishing will be held in the first-floor lobby, a book talk with the author Ji-eun of "The Great Apaturailia" will take place on the 15th, and a lecture by Oh Seung-hyun, CEO of Geulroyeon Publishing, is scheduled for the 18th.

Lecture registration will be conducted online on a first-come, first-served basis through the Jeonggwan Library website from January 3rd to 5th. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Gijang-gun Library and Jeonggwan Library team.
