‘HamyangSalja’ … Hamyang-gun Promotes Youth Local Living Migration and Settlement Project Youth Migration Settlement Plaque Ceremony.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The youth regional living and migration settlement project aimed at minimizing the net outflow of young people from Gyeongnam Province and Hamyang County and laying the foundation for youth population inflow is successfully settling in and becoming a source of hope for young people.

According to Hamyang County, Gyeongnam, the youth "Let’s Live in Hamyang" project is a youth-tailored program designed to encourage young people from other regions to stay in Hamyang County for a certain period, providing an opportunity for regional migration. It is divided into two projects: "regional living" and "migration settlement."

First, the "regional living" project is a program that connects urban youth with the region through experiences such as exploring Hamyang, rural experiences, and leisure activities. As a result of recruiting youth organizations within the county, two groups including the Bindeung Cooperative applied.

The "migration settlement" project supports young people who wish to settle or start a business in Hamyang by providing funds for regional settlement and startup costs. This includes support for store interior design, rent, and equipment installation necessary for startups. Six people applied for this project.

Since October, the six participants of the "Let’s Live in Hamyang" migration settlement project have completed detailed processes such as leasing business premises, interior work inside stores, and business registration one by one.

Through this, restaurants using local foods such as Sobae Jeongol, Chuchu Jeon, and Potato Jeon like "Hammurang," a cafe using protein products "Enjoy Protein," Hamyang local cafe "Cafe Odojae," ceramic craft tourism product exhibition and sales, wellness healing cultural space "Mouna," and youth snack shops "Kimtteoksun and Bungeoppang" have successfully started businesses and are actively operating.

On December 23, County Governor Jin Byeong-young visited "Hammurang," operated by Park Se-won, CEO of Forest Sisters, who successfully settled through this migration settlement project, and held a plaque ceremony to celebrate and wish for the prosperity of the business.

At the event, Governor Jin said, "I am very pleased that a space where young people can realize their dreams and hopes has been created in our Hamyang County, which is facing the crisis of regional extinction," adding, "I hope they settle successfully, bring vitality to the region, and revitalize the local commercial district."

The Innovation Strategy Office of Hamyang County conducted a strict selection process to choose project participants for the first-ever regional living and migration settlement projects carried out by Gyeongnam Province and Hamyang County. They spared no effort in overall education and support to ensure successful settlement.
