Pel?, who has been battling colon cancer, has been hospitalized at this hospital since the end of last month. On the 21st of this month (local time), the hospital medical staff issued a statement saying, "Pel?'s cancer has progressed further. More treatment is needed for heart and kidney dysfunction."
Pel?'s son, Edinho (real name Idson Scholbi Nascimento), visited his father on Christmas Eve, the 24th. He also posted a photo on social media holding Pel?'s hand.
Pel?'s daughter, Kelly Nascimento, previously shared a photo of herself and her sister Flavia Arancis do Nascimento keeping vigil in their father's hospital room. Kelly, embracing Pel?, expressed her heartfelt feelings, saying, "We continue this fight with faith. One more night together."
