Busan Gijang-gun Jeonggwan-eup Holds '2022 Jeonggwan Maeul Ieum' Project Performance Sharing Meeting Jung Jong-bok, the head of Gijang County, is attending the performance sharing meeting and encouraging the officials.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Gijang-gun held the '2022 Jeonggwan Village Connection Performance Sharing Meeting' at the Jeonggwan-eup Administrative Welfare Center on the 21st.

On this day, members of the Jeonggwan-eup Community Security Council and honorary social welfare officers who practiced volunteer work throughout 2022 participated to share the achievements of their projects.

About 150 guests and residents, including Gijang County Governor Jeong Jong-bok, heads of institutions, and organization leaders, attended the performance sharing meeting to encourage the efforts of the volunteers.

Since January this year, Jeonggwan-eup has been promoting the 'Jeonggwan Village Connection Project' with the Jeonggwan-eup Community Security Council, aiming to create a local welfare community that 'connects hearts' and 'connects villages.'

The number of honorary social welfare officers in Jeonggwan-eup was expanded by 160% compared to the previous year, appointing a total of 199 people, among whom about 120 participated as volunteers in six specialized local projects.

Agreements have been signed with seven local entities including companies, universities, and hospitals, maintaining continuous resource linkage. The foundation was laid for activating physical networks such as the relay donation by the Gijang-gun Daycare Center Association and the expansion of the Hope Lighthouse Sharing Project. In just this year, a total of 102,143,000 KRW in donations and goods were contributed and delivered to 2,346 low-income vulnerable households in the area.

Choi Jin-ho, the private chairman of the Jeonggwan-eup Community Security Council, said, “It was a meaningful occasion to watch the video of our activities over the past year, encouraging each other and feeling a sense of accomplishment. We will do our best to provide greater support to neighbors in need.”

Gijang County Governor Jeong Jong-bok expressed, “I sincerely thank everyone who has taken the lead in discovering welfare blind spots and providing customized support by building a strong welfare safety net through public-private cooperation. Please continue to make efforts so that the Community Security Council and honorary social welfare officers become the focal point for a community that supports neighbors in difficulty.”
