Leading automotive parts company Deokyang Industry is actively engaging in social contribution activities, extending helping hands to the underprivileged. The company announced that it is accelerating its social contribution efforts by practicing various forms of sharing, from in-house volunteer club activities to donation campaigns with external organizations.
The in-house volunteer club “Chamsilhyeop,” composed of Deokyang Industry employees, voluntarily sets aside a certain amount from their monthly salaries. Earlier this year, they donated 340 kg of white rice (worth approximately 3.4 million KRW) to the Ulsan Buk-gu Home Care Support Service Center, and annually donate 3 million KRW to support elderly people living alone. They also engage in kimchi-making volunteer work and provide necessary daily supplies to local facilities for children with severe disabilities, faithfully fulfilling the company’s corporate social responsibility through numerous social contribution activities.
In addition, Deokyang Industry has donated 10 million KRW twice, in August and December, to “BBB KOREA,” a leading language and culture NGO in South Korea, striving to create a world where people worldwide can communicate without language and cultural barriers.
Notably, the donation activities by Deokyang Industry and its employees are not limited to domestic efforts but extend internationally. In June, employees voluntarily participated in the “COMPASSION VIRTUAL RUN WONDER SHOES” donation event organized by the international child care organization “Compassion,” gifting new shoes to children in Ethiopia, encouraging their hearts to grow with dreams and hope.
Inspired by the employees’ donation activities, the company recently supported the “CHRISTMAS & COMPASSION” campaign in November with a donation of 5 million KRW to ensure that no children worldwide suffer from poverty and miss out on the joy of Christmas. This support provided beneficiary children with diverse and meaningful activities, offering hope for their proper intellectual, socio-emotional, physical, and spiritual growth, thereby exerting a positive influence.
Son Dong-in, CEO of Deokyang Industry, stated, “The company will continue to create more opportunities for sharing together with our employees and responsibly carry out sustainable social contribution activities as a global company, practicing ESG management.”
