Patissia Blockchain Successfully Hosts First Hackathon Combining Online and Offline Events

Patissia Blockchain Successfully Hosts First Hackathon Combining Online and Offline Events [Patricia Blockchain 1st Hackathon Award-Winning Team]

The Partisia Blockchain Foundation, which provides Web3 infrastructure through blockchain technology, announced on the 21st that its approximately three-month-long hackathon journey has successfully concluded.

This hackathon was the first event hosted by the Partisia Blockchain Foundation, conducted online from the end of September to the end of November. Among the teams that submitted code solutions built on the Partisia Blockchain during the online hackathon, 25 teams were selected through judging. These teams were invited to an offline hackathon held in Paris, France, for three days starting December 1st, where they showcased their demo solutions.

The final winner, the eTrusty project, proposed a public sector bidding system. It aims to transparently manage and conduct bidding transactions, which are traditionally opaque and corrupt in European bidding systems, through blockchain technology. The eTrusty team emphasized, “Partisia Blockchain leverages multiparty computation (MPC) and zero-knowledge proof algorithms, providing strengths in security, scalability, and privacy protection, making it a perfect fit for the project we devised.”

eTrusty received a first-place prize of $100,000 (approximately 130 million KRW), while other winning teams were awarded $75,000 each (approximately 98 million KRW). Additionally, the winning teams will receive mentoring support to help lead their projects stably.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) also attended this hackathon event to provide a session explaining the use of blockchain in conflict zones.

A representative of the Partisia Blockchain Foundation stated, “We are pleased to have discovered diverse and meaningful excellent projects through this hackathon,” and added, “We will continue to prepare ongoing hackathons to discover good projects utilizing the Partisia Blockchain.”
