Interest in travel to Japan among our citizens is increasing. With the easing of COVID-19 quarantine measures and the Lunar New Year holiday coinciding, there has been a sharp rise in the number of people planning short-distance overseas trips early next year.
On the 21st, Norangpungseon announced that based on online weblog data as of November, Japan has been consistently attracting attention from customers planning trips early next year.
In November, Norangpungseon's channel traffic increased by about 5% compared to the previous month, and the search volume for Japan region package tours departing in January 2023 rose by 609% for Osaka, 403% for Kyushu, and 365% for Hokkaido, respectively.
Japan has allowed visa-free entry since October. Since then, demand has surged significantly starting last month, making it one of the top regions in actual booking rates alongside Western Europe by the end of the year.
According to Norangpungseon, the regions of interest for customers hoping to depart in January next year were Kyushu (15.7%), Hokkaido (12.2%), Osaka (6.3%), Turkey (5.8%), and Da Nang (4.5%) in that order. The regions with the highest actual booking rates were Hokkaido (14.8%), Kyushu (8.2%), Turkey (7.9%), Osaka (6.8%), and Egypt (4.9%).
Norangpungseon is operating the '2023 Lunar New Year Holiday Special' for customers planning their trips during the 2023 Lunar New Year holiday period in advance. This special features themed products targeting various regions including Southeast Asia, Japan, Guam and Saipan, Europe, the Americas, Australia and New Zealand, and Taiwan.
