[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] LG Electronics is launching a new air conditioner that can be used year-round, rain or shine.

On the 21st, LG Electronics announced the release of a new model of the Whisen Four-Season Air Conditioner, equipped with differentiated cooling performance as well as heating, purification, and dehumidification functions. The new product, launching the next day, is designed to be used according to weather conditions and customer lifestyles, such as cold waves, seasonal changes, heatwaves, yellow dust, and the rainy season.

First, it keeps the indoor environment warm and comfortable even during chilly seasonal transitions or winter cold waves with high fine dust levels. Using the heating mode and the optional purification function, warm purified air filtered through the system quickly heats the indoor space.

It is notable that it can be used even in winter when outdoor temperatures drop below freezing. After linking with the LG ThinQ app and setting a schedule, customers can pre-set the indoor temperature to their desired level for early morning or after returning home from work.

The powerful and comfortable cooling performance of the Whisen air conditioner is fully preserved. A representative feature is the '4X Concentrated Cooling' mode, which blows air from four cooling fans directly forward. It also includes the 'Wide Care Cooling' mode, which freely adjusts the wind direction. Four air guards on the left and right direct the cool air toward the walls, cooling the entire room while minimizing direct airflow on people.

The dehumidification function has been enhanced. It is designed to perform at a level equivalent to running six 20ℓ capacity dehumidifiers simultaneously, keeping the indoor space dry during the rainy season.

Energy efficiency is also high. It offers high efficiency not only in cooling but also in heating mode. It applies 'heat pump' technology with a dual inverter compressor, a core component. The basic principle is to absorb indoor heat using refrigerant and release it outside. The heat pump method operates this process in reverse. This is safer and more energy-efficient than conventional heaters that generate hot air using electricity.

Hygiene functions are also notable. The new product removes bacteria that can adhere to the filter through the 'Ultra-fine Filter+' function. It is equipped with 'Air Purification+' certified by the Korea Air Cleaning Association CAC. It washes the heat exchanger with water and includes the 'AI Dry+' function that automatically dries moisture inside the air conditioner, as well as a 99.99% 'UV LED Fan Sterilization' function.

The cooling and heating areas of the new product are 65.9㎡ and 43.3㎡ respectively for the 20-type model. Prices range from 2.5 million to 5.05 million KRW. There are also '2in1' models including wall-mounted air conditioners, so the price range is somewhat wide.
