As a Specialty Product of Ulleungdo! ... Ulleung-gun Selects Return Gifts and Suppliers for Hometown Love Donation Program

Ulleung County selected return gifts and suppliers for the Hometown Love Donation Program through the deliberation of the return gift selection committee.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter An Kyungho] Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, has selected return gifts and suppliers for the Hometown Love Donation Program, which will be implemented starting next year.

After receiving proposals for 11 items and 2 suppliers from December 5 to 9, the final selection was made on the 19th through the deliberation of the return gift selection committee.

The selected items are agricultural, livestock, and marine processed foods, including myeong-i pickles, bujigaengi pickles, dried bujigaengi, dried seaweed chwinamul, pumpkin syrup, ma-ga-mok syrup, pumpkin taffy, pumpkin jelly, stone seaweed, dried squid, semi-dried squid, and Ulleung Love Gift Certificates. These were chosen as products that can be supplied stably while reflecting the characteristics of the county and ensuring high satisfaction among donors.

The Hometown Love Donation Program, effective from January 1, 2023, allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW to local governments other than their registered residence and receive tax deductions and return gifts. Anyone nationwide who does not have an address in Ulleung-gun can donate to Ulleung-gun.

Return gifts can be received through the Hometown Love e-um system within 30% of the donation amount. Donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully deductible, and amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW receive a 16.5% tax credit along with return gifts within 30% of the donation amount.

Nam Han-kwon, the mayor of Ulleung-gun, said, “We appreciate the suppliers who participated to revitalize Ulleung-gun’s Hometown Love Donation Program,” adding, “We will ensure that donors receive return gifts that satisfy them through the highest quality and stable supply.”
