Jangseong-gun to Provide 'Entrance Celebration Money' for New Elementary, Middle, and High School Students Starting Next Year

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, will implement the support for congratulatory funds for new students entering elementary, middle, and high schools, a campaign promise of the 8th local government, starting next year.

According to the county on the 19th, the recipients of the congratulatory funds are new students registered as residents in the county attending elementary, middle, or high school, including students transferring from other cities, counties, or overseas to Jangseong.

Elementary students will receive 100,000 KRW, middle school students 200,000 KRW, and high school students 300,000 KRW to strengthen the public nature of education and realize universal educational welfare.

The county has established the "Jangseong-gun Elementary, Middle, and High School Entrance Congratulatory Fund Support Ordinance" and secured the necessary budget for this purpose.

Applications for payment can be submitted by the student's guardian, such as a parent or legal guardian, by visiting the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center in person.

The county will verify eligibility and provide the congratulatory funds in the form of local currency, the Jangseong Sarang Gift Certificate.

Detailed information will be provided through the application announcement for the new school term next year.

County Governor Kim Han-jong said, "I hope that the payment of congratulatory funds will reduce the educational burden on new students' families even a little," and added, "Believing that investment in people is the greatest investment, we will focus on promoting customized education policies and nurturing future talents."
