Icamper Rooftop Tent Selected as ‘2022 World-Class Product’ Hosted by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy [Provided by iCamper]

iKamper's rooftop tent (Skycamp) was newly selected as a 2022 World-Class Product.

The World-Class Product system is operated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to promote Korean products leading the global market and boost exports. It is divided into ‘current world-class products’ and ‘next-generation world-class products.’

iKamper passed the evaluation criteria set for current world-class product selection, including holding the number one global market share, being the top exporter among domestic manufacturers of similar products, and having an annual export volume exceeding 5 million USD. Globally, most rooftop tent products are Chinese OEM and ODM products. iKamper is a rooftop tent manufacturer that produces domestically with its own technology, brand, and manufacturing facilities, and is the only company in the same industry selected as a world-class product, proving its high technological capability. Based on this core technology, it is receiving significant interest from the world’s top 10 automobile manufacturers and is pursuing business expansion through strategic partnership alliances.

iKamper’s rooftop tent (Skycamp) is a new concept tent installed on the roof of vehicles. It is a premium product recognized worldwide, exported to 45 countries including the United States and Europe, and has won the Red Dot Design Award for three consecutive years. The product lineup includes Skycamp, X-Cover, and BDV, with Skycamp being the product selected as a world-class product this time.

Skycamp is the world’s first 4-person hard-shell rooftop tent, with the advantage of being installable in just one minute. It offers a spacious area enough for up to three adults or a family of two adults and two children to rest comfortably. It features recycled fabric made from threads reborn by melting used PET bottles.

iKamper CEO Park Soon-gyu founded iKamper in 2013 based on his experience of traveling across the American continent. Under the slogan Love People, Love Nature, he devoted himself to continuous development to provide new adventures through innovation, resulting in the launch of Skycamp. In 2017, iKamper was widely introduced worldwide through crowdfunding in the United States. Currently, iKamper has established a subsidiary in the U.S., the world’s largest overlanding gear market, actively targeting the mainland market and is steadily sailing toward a clear goal of becoming number one globally. CEO Park Soon-gyu stated, “Based on the PCXB mindset?where the right Product creates excellent Customer eXperience, and that customer experience leads to trust in Branding?I will strive to become a global overland gear company.”
