[Asia Economy Binh Duong (Vietnam) = Reporter Choi Taewon] Jang Hana and Park Hyunkyung revealed their desired titles for the next season ahead of the second tournament of the 2023 Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, the PLK Pacific Links Korea Championship (total prize money 700 million KRW).
At a press conference held on the 15th at the Twin Doves Golf Club (par 72) clubhouse in Binh Duong Province, Vietnam, Jang Hana said, "Except for Rookie of the Year, I have won every title. Rather than official titles, I want to steadily break my record as the domestic all-time leading money winner."
Park Hyunkyung expressed ambition for two titles. "The one I want the most is the Player of the Year award. It is given to a consistent player, so I want to challenge for it," she began. She added, "In 2021, I ranked first in average putting, but last year I was second. I want to be first again. Putting is what I like most and feel best at when I’m doing well. I want to win both the Player of the Year and the average putting titles."
There was also a strong but brief voice expressing the desire to be the "money king." Lim Heejung answered succinctly, "I want to be the money king."
Lee Somi aimed for first place in greens in regulation. "Since my rookie year, I have wanted to be first in greens in regulation. I am confident in my iron shots, but often failed to get on the green from around the green. This season, I definitely want to be first in greens in regulation," she said.
There was also a model answer focusing on improvement over last year rather than a specific title. Lee Gayoung explained, "Rather than being first, I hope my overall results will be within the top 10. I want to record slightly higher rankings in all categories compared to this year."
No Yerim, who is active on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, said, "My biggest goal is to win on the LPGA Tour."
