[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will hold a special lecture on carbon neutrality to build public consensus on the climate crisis and explore practical measures.

On the 16th, Yongin City announced that it will hold a special lecture on carbon neutrality on the 20th at the Climate Change Experience Education Center in Namdong, Cheoin-gu, and recruit 80 citizens to participate in the lecture.

The lecturers for this special lecture are Jang Da-ul, a specialist from the international environmental organization Greenpeace, and Son Bong-hee, the Korean coordinator of GCoM, the world's largest coalition of local governments for climate action.

Specialist Jang and Mr. Son will each explain the seriousness of the climate crisis and climate actions to promote green living through various case studies in an easy-to-understand manner, under the themes of "Wise Climate Crisis Living" and "Low-Carbon Cities Created Together with Citizens," respectively.

Those who wish to participate in the lecture can apply through Yongin City's integrated reservation website.

A city official said, "Since achieving carbon neutrality requires a major transformation of all structures and lifestyles in our society, we prepared this special lecture to share consensus with citizens," and urged, "We ask many citizens to participate in this special lecture so that we can create an eco-friendly low-carbon city."
