Lotte Members Appoints Kim Hyeju, Executive Director of Shinhan Bank, as CEO

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Kim Hyeju, Executive Director of Shinhan Bank, was appointed as CEO of Lotte Members on the 15th.

Lotte Group announced the '2023 Regular Executive Personnel Appointment' with this content on the same day. With this appointment, Kim will become the first external female CEO of Lotte Members.

Born in 1970, Kim graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in Statistics, earned a master's degree in Statistics from Seoul National University, and completed doctoral coursework at the same graduate school.

Kim joined SK Telecom in 2003, worked at IBM Korea in 2011, served as CRM Team Leader at Samsung Electronics in 2013, and was Executive Director in charge of AI and Big Data Convergence Business at KT in 2015. Since 2020, she has been serving as Executive Director and Head of Big Data Division and MyData Unit at Shinhan Financial Group.

It is interpreted that Kim's experience in data analysis across various industries such as finance, manufacturing, and telecommunications influenced this appointment. Lotte Members is expected to strengthen its capabilities in digital innovation and new business discovery through this infusion of external talent.
