Increased to 7 Flights per Week... Flight Operations Resumed After 33 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Asiana Airlines announced on the 15th that it will increase the frequency of its Incheon-Honolulu route, which was operating five times a week, to seven times a week (once daily) starting from the 22nd of this month. With this increase, the airline will restore operations to pre-COVID-19 levels for the first time in 33 months since suspending flights at the end of March 2020.
The Incheon-Honolulu flight departs Incheon Airport at 8:20 PM and arrives at Honolulu Airport at 9:30 AM local time. The return flight departs at 11:10 AM local time and arrives at Incheon Airport at 5:30 PM the next day Korean time.
In addition to Hawaii, Asiana Airlines has confirmed or is preparing to increase flights across all routes to meet the winter peak season demand. ▲ In Europe, the London route will increase from four to six times a week starting next month on the 8th, and the Istanbul route will increase from twice to three times a week starting next month on the 6th. ▲ In Mongolia, the Ulaanbaatar route will increase from twice to three times a week starting this month on the 21st.
For Japan routes, the Gimpo-Osaka route will resume operations with 14 flights per week starting next month on the 13th. This marks the resumption of flights after about three years since suspension in March 2020 due to COVID-19. The Gimpo-Haneda route, currently operating 14 times a week, is also considering additional flights in early next year.
Furthermore, the China routes recently received an additional allocation of five weekly flights, and the airline is reviewing the resumption of new routes and increasing frequencies on existing routes soon.
Asiana Airlines stated, “We have expanded supply in preparation for increased travel demand during the winter peak season and plan to continue increasing flights in the next summer season to provide convenience to our passengers.”
