Sancheong-gun Stands Out as 'Best Institution' in Forestry Resources in Gyeongnam Province Sancheong County Office, Gyeongnam.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has been selected as the best institution in the forest resources sector of Gyeongnam Province.


According to Sancheong-gun on the 14th, it received the Best Institution Award in the forest management category of the "2022 Gyeongnam Province Forest Resources Sector City and County Evaluation."


It was also selected as an excellent institution in the afforestation category.


With this, Sancheong-gun has achieved the distinction of being selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years since 2018 in the forest management category.


In this evaluation, Sancheong-gun was recognized for its efforts to prevent safety accidents, such as conducting safety education for workers involved in public forest management projects.


In particular, it received excellent evaluations in various areas, including enhancing the public value of forests and achieving the goals of forest management for wildfire prevention.


Additionally, through afforestation projects covering 82 hectares, forest management projects covering 1,460 hectares, and forest biomass initiatives this year, it was evaluated as contributing to revitalizing the local economy by creating 53 local jobs through forest management projects.


Previously, in 2022, it promoted afforestation projects on 81 hectares and forest management projects on 1,420 hectares as part of the public-private cooperative forest management pilot project (including economic forest creation), receiving a public-private commendation (Sancheong-gun Forest Cooperative).


A county official stated, "We will continue to enhance the economic and public functions of forests through ongoing afforestation and forest management projects," adding, "We will accelerate efforts so that many residents can enjoy the various benefits provided by forests."
