Kim Mina, a Changwon City Council member from the People Power Party who sparked controversy with her offensive remarks toward the Itaewon victims' families, posted a message with this content on Facebook on the 13th. Councilor Kim said, "Whether it's Sewol or Itaewon, there are factions that exploit the victims' families," and asked, "Does the fact that even I am being restricted mean that they themselves know they are at fault?"

Although Councilor Kim has faced criticism following the controversy over her offensive remarks toward the Itaewon victims' families, she appears to have launched a counterattack through Facebook.

In response, the Gyeongnam Provincial Party of the Democratic Party of Korea stated on the 13th, "Kim Mina, a Changwon City Council member from the People Power Party, who shows no basic respect for human beings, is not even worth commenting on," and demanded, "If there is any conscience left as a human being, the People Power Party provincial party should apologize to the victims' families and take appropriate measures corresponding to the responsibility."

Earlier, on the 23rd of last month, Councilor Kim posted on Facebook along with a screenshot of a press conference held by the Itaewon victims' families. She targeted a mother who lost her son on the day of the Itaewon disaster, saying, "Ignorant XX who kills the dead twice."

Councilor Kim claimed, "It's a scheme to make a profit by selling one's children."

Meanwhile, on the 2nd, Councilor Kim posted on Facebook, "Japan advances to the round of 16!!! They did well~ Overall evaluation of anti-Japan agitators!!! Hahaha, congrats to me too~!"
