[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Jaguar Land Rover Korea announced on the 13th that it will officially launch the luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) "All-New Range Rover Sport" in Korea. Since its global unveiling in May, the All-New Range Rover Sport has achieved 1,000 pre-orders domestically.
The Range Rover was first introduced in 2005. The newly launched 3rd generation All-New Range Rover Sport is a completely redesigned model after 10 years.
Jaguar Land Rover Korea will first release the All-New Range Rover Sport with advanced mild hybrid (MHEV) system-equipped I6 Ingenium gasoline and diesel engine models. In 2023, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model boasting an electric driving range of up to 113 km (WLTP standard) will be launched, and a pure electric (BEV) model will be introduced in the future.
The digital LED headlights, which form the signature daytime running lights (DRL) of the All-New Range Rover Sport, are equipped with digital micro mirror devices (DMDs) capable of individually controlling 1.3 million mirrors. This technology identifies up to 16 objects on the vehicle’s path and intelligently blocks light to prevent glare for other road users.
The All-New Range Rover Sport delivers optimal off-road performance in any situation. It offers Land Rover’s latest fully automatic Terrain Response® 2 system and, for the first time in the brand, an optional Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control. This system analyzes the vehicle’s tilting, rolling, and pitching based on various algorithms and adjusts the optimal driving speed accordingly.
The All-New Range Rover Sport is equipped with an efficient engine featuring a 48V MHEV system. The P360 model with the I6 Ingenium gasoline engine delivers a maximum output of 360 PS and a peak torque of 51 kg·m, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds. The D300 model, equipped with Land Rover’s I6 Ingenium diesel engine, produces a maximum output of 300 PS, a peak torque of 66.3 kg·m, and accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.
Additionally, various cutting-edge technologies have been introduced inside the cabin. The next-generation interior air purification system reduces various odors, bacteria, and allergens to maintain a comfortable indoor air quality. The vehicle is also equipped with the Pivi Pro infotainment system to enhance connectivity, allowing access to 90% of all functions with just two touches. T map navigation by T map Mobility is pre-installed, providing high convenience for domestic customers.
Robin Colgan, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Korea, said, “The All-New Range Rover Sport is an innovative model that redefines the luxury sports SUV segment with its aggressive yet sporty design and dynamic on-road handling. With the distinctive dynamics, all-terrain driving performance, and excellent connectivity unique to the Range Rover Sport, the All-New Range Rover Sport, reborn as a more attractive model than any previous generation, will satisfy discerning Korean customers.”
Jaguar Land Rover Korea will launch four trims of the All-New Range Rover Sport domestically. The domestic launch prices, including a 5-year service plan package, are 139.97 million KRW for the P360 Dynamic SE, 150.67 million KRW for the P360 Dynamic HSE and D300 Dynamic HSE, and 158.07 million KRW for the P360 Autobiography.
