[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 12th the "2023 Academic Year Kindergarten, Elementary, and Special Education Teacher Candidate Selection Competitive 1st Exam Passers."
The successful candidates this time total 321, including 82 for kindergarten, 228 for elementary school, 5 for special school (kindergarten), and 6 for special school (elementary), selected at 1.5 times the planned number of recruits excluding those who scored less than 40% of the full score in each subject.
Those who passed the 1st exam must submit documents for the 2nd exam from the 12th to the 14th, and detailed information can be found in the announcement.
The 2nd exam will be held over three days from January 4 to 6 next year at Mokpo Yeongsan Elementary School and Mokpo Aehyang Elementary School.
On the first day, an in-depth interview on teaching aptitude will be conducted; on the second day, a teaching demonstration will take place; and on the last day, only elementary teacher candidates will participate in an English teaching demonstration and English interview.
Candidates currently in quarantine due to COVID-19 can take the exam at a separate test site upon prior application. The prior application period is from the 28th of this month to January 3 of next year. Additional applications are only possible for candidates notified after the prior application period.
The final successful candidates can be confirmed on January 27 of next year through the Provincial Office of Education website.
